A cellar which will enchant the most delicate palate

The "Côtes du Roussillon - Villages" wines

The “AOC Côtes de Roussillon” extends on 5000 hectares spreading out all over 118 communes between the massif of the Corbières and the Pyrenees.
The red wines form the main part of wines production in our department with a production of 220.000 hectolitres. The production of rosé wine represents 20.000 hectolitres and 10.000 hectolitres for the whites.
The vineyard takes root on the stone terraces of the river “Têt” “Tech” and “Agly” but also on the schist zones and Granit arenas, Detrital hills of the Pliocene area or of the grounds argil-limestones.
The vineyards extends even more to north to the borders of Languedoc on the foot of the château of Queribus, in the Agly valley, near the oaks of Fenouillèdes.

The red wines

Red Wines: rather marked ruby colours with fruity and spiced flavours. Elaborated starting from an assembly of at least three types of vines: Carignan, black Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Roundness stops but also more feelings of vigorous flavours for the few vintages raised in wood barrels.

The rosé and white wines

Rosy and white wines: sharp colour and constant dew with intense and elegant fruity flavours. Generous in the mouth.

For the white wines: elaborate with Macabeu in assembly with more and more white Grenaches, some rare Malvoisies and more recently Marsanne, Roussanne and Vermentino. Aromatic, strung personality. They can be more generous with the Grenache grapes, reaching 13° and more. Certain vintages are sometimes vinified in barrels.

The "Villages

Cultivated on 2800 hectares along the valley of Agly, they relate to 32 communes of the department. The vineyards hanging on the side of the hills are deep-rooted on the stony terraces of the rivers Têt and Agly. The composition of the ground very diversified: granite schist’s, gneisses, arenas, limestone. At least three type of vines use their assembly: Carignan, Black Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.
Four communes are authorized to associate their name with this assembly: Caramany, Latour-de-France, Lesquerde and Tautavel.

The sweet natural wines

The stones and the red clay constitute a marvellous soil for this type of vines which appreciate particularly the dry climate. The sun and the Tramontana make the remainder. The sweet aperitif wine, which confers in our Roussillon, dominant position in France, requires more than 200 gr of sugar (of the grape) per litre to be vinified in the respect of the standards. And it is the Grenache grape, rustic and resistant which provides the best composition to make those good sweet natural wines
